“Spring Art Expo 2023” Opens & Celebrates June 7-23

The annual Spring Art Expo opens Wed., June 7th and celebrates with a scrumptious reception on Fri., June 9 from 5 to 7 p.m. On Fri. Regular Fri. hours will prevail from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and at 5 p.m. the party begins!

What is Spring Art Expo? Every June artists are invited to display and or sell their works for a small registration fee. ARTISTS! There is only one fee to participate....NO commission is taken for sales (this only happens in June and October). Visit the gallery on Wed., Thurs. or Fri. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on

Sat. from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The 50/50 raffle will again take place and this year two winners will win either 50% of the ticket sales or a beautiful ceramic fish platter (value $195) created and donated by artist Mark Reed. Tickets, $5, are on sale beginning now by NWFA members, at the gallery and at Timber Days. The drawing will be held at the annual concert Aug. 11th.

The second event of Spring Art Expo is the crafts at NWFA’s Cook’s Timber Days table (events June 9,10 &11). See NWFA Crafts Sat. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. & visit the gallery in the DreamWeaver Spa & Salon complex) at 210 S. River St. on

Thurs., Fri. (10-5) & Sat. (9-1).

Every Wednesday beginning June 14th Music in the Park on Cook’s River Street gazebo begins at 6 p.m. and concludes at 8 p.m.. These free concerts are funded by NWFA with the help of the community: VFW Post 1757 and the VFW Post 1757 Auxiliary, Cook Lion's Club and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church usually provides a food service beginning at 5:30.

Tues. June 20 at 5 to 6 p.m. the public is welcome the the annual meeting of Northwoods Friends of the Arts. Join the members of NWFA for refreshments and a short meeting before the guest speaker begins at 6 p.m.. Noted Photographer, Keith Meisel, will present an informative talk about his experiences in photography in the U.S. and around the world: “Street Photography”.

On Fri., Aug. 11, from 5- 9 p.m. NWFA will present it’s annual concert and fundraiser: “The Blue Water Big Band”, a concert with room to dance! Tickets for $25 include a snack and will be on sale during Timber Days and at the gallery. The fundraiser is held at the Cook Community Center.
