NWFA Concert - 2022

The Blue Water Big Band, 13 musicians from Duluth, performed music from the 30's through the 60's genre' at the Cook Community Center on August 5, 2022. We heard the BWBB
play Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington and 50's crossover rock.  Danced to the music; Latin,
waltzes and swing.  Swayed to the ballads.  This was Northwoods Friends of the Arts
annual fundraising concert.

The doors opened at 5:30 and we listened to the sounds of
Cook’s own Eric Pederson and the “Beefeater Brothers”, while
we enjoyed bratwurst by the Cook Lions Club.  There was a
silent art auction and a the 50/50 raffle drawing. A $5 ticket
gave you a chance to win half the total amount of the ticket
sales or a real original  painting by artist Jim DeVries. A Silent
Auction Purchase or a Raffle ticket purchase went to the support of NWFA.

The winning tickets were drawn for the 50/50 raffle so there are two lucky winners again
this year. One winning $900, 50% of the ticket sales, the other winner will take home the beautiful Jim DeVries painting of MN outdoors, “Old Rocky”.

Thank you to all the artists who donated art work for the silent auctions and raffles and door prizes!  Thanks to the members who volunteered their time and effort,  especially Shawna and Don Kishel, Lauren Nelson, Alberta Whitenack and many others for making the concert event happen.
